Dr. J. Vernon McGee was a famous preacher and teacher, and voice of the Bible on the radio, for much of the 20th Century. He was long time pastor of the Church of the Open Door in Los Angeles. He is most well-known for preaching through the Bible on his radio program Through The Bible, a five-year, verse-by-verse Bible study.
He was a highly educated man though spoke in homely, every day terms and was so able to reach a wide audience worldwide. He faithfully served God well into his 80s.
